From managing members to building a movement

How Show Choir created the space to grow, nearly doubling membership and expanding their community across the UK.

Built for people, powered by passion

Show Choir didn’t start as a large organisation. It started as an idea, bringing people together through a shared love of musical theatre.

Since launching in 2017, that idea has grown into something much bigger. Nine choirs, over 850 members and a community that stretches across southwest England.

It’s not just about singing. It’s about confidence, connection and creating something people genuinely want to be part of. And naturally, as that grew, so did the ambition behind it.

We have so many clients that we couldn't keep track of membership payments and communications.

When momentum becomes hard to manage

Growth didn’t arrive slowly. It built quickly, and with it came a different kind of challenge.

What used to be manageable in smaller numbers started to feel harder to stay on top of. Payments, registrations, communication, all of it began to stack up in the background.

“We have so many clients that we couldn't keep track of membership payments and communications.”

It wasn’t one big problem. It was lots of small things, all competing for time and attention. And together, they started to pull focus away from where it mattered most.

Creating breathing room to move forward

The shift wasn’t about doing things faster. It was about removing the constant need to keep checking, chasing and piecing things together.

With a more consistent way of running things in place through Thrive4, the pressure eased. Not instantly, but noticeably.

There was less second-guessing. Less time spent figuring things out. And more of a sense that the business was under control, rather than something you had to keep catching up with.

That’s where the real change started.

Communication feels clearer. People know what’s happening. New members settle in more quickly. Existing members stay engaged.

Keeping connection at the centre of growth

As the community expanded, one thing couldn’t be lost: the feeling that people belonged there.

Growth can easily dilute that, but here, it hasn’t.

Communication feels clearer. People know what’s happening. New members settle in more quickly. Existing members stay engaged.

That’s reflected in an 87% engagement rate, but more importantly, it’s felt in how the community holds together as it grows.

Confidence to plan, not just react

There’s a different kind of confidence that comes from knowing where things stand.

Not guessing. Not hoping. Actually knowing.

With a clearer view of income and participation, decisions have become easier to make. That confidence has supported a 54% increase in revenue in the first year, but the bigger shift is in how those decisions now feel.

They’re not reactive. They’re intentional.

Growth that feels steady, not stretched

Within a year, membership increased by 99%. That kind of growth would normally come with pressure. Here, it didn’t. Or at least, not in the same way.

Because the foundations were there, growth didn’t feel like something to keep up with. It felt like something the business could support.

What’s changed isn’t just the size of Show Choir. It’s how it operates. It’s no longer stretched between growth and delivery. It has the space to do both.

And with that comes something far more valuable than efficiency. It comes with confidence in what’s next.

There’s absolutely no way our business could have grown without Thrive4. I’d recommend it to other small businesses looking to simplify how they run things.
